WHY YOU SHOULD LOBBY CONGRESS Citizens may feel it is a waste of time to contact elected leaders, because their minds are made up already. But on most issues, legislators try hard to determine the desires and leanings of their constituency before they vote. Politicians worry about being re-elected, and know that the happier their constituency, the more likely their own re-election.

On Monday, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said it was disappointing that the Republican establishment is joining Democrats to wage war on conservatives. She also made the point that the same types of establishment politicians and their consultants who shy away from fighting for religious liberty are the same types that do not want to embrace conservatives.

Appearing on Mark Levin's radio show to discuss her book, Good Tidings and Great Joy: Protecting the Heart of ChristmasPalin called out Republicans who would "shy away from any affiliations with the Tea Party," claiming that "says a lot about them."
"There certainty is a clear line being drawn for the rest of the electorate to understand and take sides on," Palin said before calling out Washington's permanent political class. "You're either for us or you're against us, Washington, D.C."
Palin said lawmakers that are "for us" will put faith in the American people to "make our own decisions" and not some "faceless bureaucrats and the politicians that hire them," believing that they, "as these elites," can "make these better decisions for us."
She said Sens. Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) represented the "good guys" who stood up "for us on the Senate floor" to fight socialized medicine and follow through on what they had promised their constituents. After emphasizing that there are "too few" of them in Washington, Palin blasted the political establishment for throwing them under the bus.
Levin said these wealthy donors who are often subsidized through the redistribution of wealth are waging a war on the Tea Party and those who are trying to promote the country's founding heritage and the Reagan agenda.
Palin said it is "so disappointing to know that is going on within the Republican Party."
She said it is a given the Democrats want a far-left agenda but emphasized that the "manifestation of that problem on the Republican side of the aisle" was disturbing.
